Kings Camp Leadership

The Programme

The Rookie Sports Leadership Award (RSLA) provides real, practical work experience for anyone interested in sports coaching and childcare. Through sessions assisting the coaches, guidance and development from the staff team and delivery of your own plans, Rookies develop the skills and confidence needed to become a leader. Many Rookies are not pursuing a career in sports coaching but find the active environment of the RSLA an ideal place to develop skills for childcare and other similar careers.

Real Sport

You also get to play plenty of your favourite sports with other your age. King's choose venues that provide great sports facilities like Astroturf, swimming pools, sports halls, tennis courts or climbing walls – they are all designed to provide the perfect environment to enjoy sport.

A Great Career Starter

After completing each award – Bronze (1 week), Silver (2 weeks), Gold (3 weeks), Platinum (4 weeks) – you can include details of the programme in your Record of Achievement, CV, College/Job applications, Duke of Edinburgh award and on UCAS forms. Many Rookies graduate to work for us or go on to a career in sport, teaching or childcare related sectors.

Highly Qualified Staff Teams

Our staff teams are selected for their ability to deliver great coaching in an entertaining and enjoyable way. Our managers are qualified PE teachers with at least 2 years teaching experience while our coaches have national governing body qualifications in various sports and our swimming teachers are qualified with life-guard certification.
